Setting: Middle/High School, based off the Old Mill High School structure. Large enough school + grounds to keep gamers interested.
Plot: An army of unknown men have taken over a high school. The highschool houses over 2400 students, and is a combination of a middle and high school. Reportedly nearly all the students are held hostage by these men and will not be released unless a sum of 3 million per student was payed, as well as the permanent removal of US affairs in foreign countries. Failure to comply within 1 week will result in the death of 1 student every 5 minutes.
This sets the stage for an in depth story line that has the possibility of being extended into a sequel.
Right now, i've seen this title perfect for the Wii in control, but potentially the PS3/Xbox360 in graphics. Preferablly it would be marketed for all 3.
Control:
Wii: Point and shoot system. FPS. Use Nunchuck
B-Shoot
A-Reload
Control Pad-Change Weapon/Item
Control Stick-Move
C-Camera (Shows menu w/4 cameras. Infrared, Night Vision, Scope, and Remote. Remote can be placed on a wall and will alert you if movment is detected in front of it. It can be checked at any time by reselecting remote. If a second Remote is placed, the first one will be removed.)
If using Sword
Swing sword to get mimicked action on screen. 3rd person with this weapon. Control stick to move. Use z to target an enemy specifically. Green arrows will appear on the outside of the screen when being attacked. If blade is in the position shown, a succesful parry will occur where the enemy is left defenseless except by worn armor for 1 second. Use b-button to block, however there will be no stun effect like with a parry. A button = jump. Shake nunchuck to do a spin attack, which can be exectued in the air. C-button-cameras only useable in shooter, as they are attached to your gun, so in sword form you will use the c button to center the camera behind you.
Considering i own a Wii at home, this doesn't seem like a difficult control scheme at all to me, and has good enough features to make a decent game. However it seems to lack that innovative idea that makes the game unique, to me at least.
Xbox/PS3 use dual-stick combo for shooter. I don't own either of these, but i know that they have well enough controls to make this game well (See Halo, Gears of War, Oblivion).
PS3 motion support: Can't think of any atm, will think about it.
Gameplay: Starting in the north gym you'll make your way through the varying rooms, clearing out enemies. You have to make sure the enemy goes down because if an alarm goes off the mission will be jepordized. This is a stealth like game, and while having sword combat makes it seem to be not possible, Its not so much stealth as it is keeping your existence quiet, and covering your tracks. You have to secure rooms, 1 step at a time, and rescue the hostages, guide them out of the school and across the fields to safety. Enemies will not be repetitive. There will be different weapon bearers, some with swords, others with machine, shot, or pistol guns.
All i got for now, just came up with this idea.
